Regional Collaboration and Policy Support

Effectively addressing regional priorities often depends on collaboration among all levels of government, along with partners in the public and private sectors. Ongoing communication with these stakeholders strengthens service delivery and leads to better-informed public policy solutions.

The Metro Mayors Caucus (MMC) generally refrains from taking formal positions on legislation that is more appropriately addressed by the Colorado Municipal League (CML), which also represents MMC member municipalities. Most of the MMC’s work is educational in nature, designed to equip mayors and municipalities with practical, actionable tools. The knowledge and experience that mayors bring—on behalf of their communities and governing bodies—are vital to shaping thoughtful, effective policies.

How We Help

The Caucus fosters strong lines of communication and cultivates productive relationships among public agencies, private organizations, and all levels of government. When legislation or other government actions are relevant to MMC interests, we provide mayors with timely, thorough information and analysis to support informed decision-making.

Communication

When the Caucus adopts a formal position on legislation, rulemaking, or similar decisions, that stance is clearly communicated to relevant decision-makers. We also coordinate with partner organizations that have lobbying authority—such as CML, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce—by sharing perspectives and supporting their advocacy efforts where appropriate.
