Civic Results is a non-profit organization working with community-oriented leaders and organizations to synthesize, simplify, and communicate information in our rapidly changing environment. We facilitate capacity building by designing and developing systems and sustainable policy solutions through collaboration, mediation, and education. As a Program Assistant, you will assist the President & CEO with daily responsibilities as listed below. As a small non-profit organization, the opportunity to build skills in several areas makes this a desirable position for those building their resume and/or seeking opportunities to meet influential leaders around the Denver metro area and the State of Colorado. You will work closely with 38 mayors in the metro area, as well as mayors, leaders and influencers in the State of Colorado, weighing in on important issues such as housing, homelessness, transportation, transit, and other local issues. We are constantly developing and changing programs, and the program assistant will be involved in implementing new ideas and innovative strategies. We are seeking someone excited to innovate and facilitate positive change in the Denver Metro area.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Program Assistant:
· Ensure calendar invitations are sent to members.
· Database is updated with elections and turnover among members and partners.
· Communicate with members of each program as needed
· Work with IT support to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
· Assist with light bookkeeping including generation of invoices, receipt and deposit of payments, and accounts receivable communications.
· Help support content development.
· Assist with planning, execution, and note-taking of regular meetings, workshops, social events, and tours.
· Update website and social media with meeting, event information, newsletters, and announcements.
· Plan menus and catering for events.
· Manage travel and logistics.
· Additional tasks as needed.
Job Skills and Qualifications
· Prepare and deliver clear, effective, and professional presentations
· Effective listening and questioning techniques to anticipate members’ needs
· Exceptional verbal communication skills to convey ideas and thoughts in a clear
· Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications to produce correspondence and electronic communications
· Leadership and training skills to direct work of administrative employees as applicable
· Demonstrate excellent work ethic
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred or,
· 2-4 years of relative work experience
· Experience working in a collaborative team environment
· Microsoft Teams, Office 365 required
· Canva, and Client Retention Management systems experience is preferred
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role so must be able to sit for long periods of time without problems
Must be able to have repetitive arm, wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer
Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to use close vision and able to focus including but not limited to reading/proofing various material, and looking at a computer screen
The position will require the ability to lift 0-25lbs is required.
Work Environment
Generally works in an indoor temperature-controlled environment.
Minimal to moderate travel to and from events in variable weather/road conditions
Ability to work in a noisy or distracting environment
Adaptable to the prospective or existing client’s work environment
Flexible Hybrid Schedule with 3-4 days on-site (Denver)
