Civic Results Opens Applications for the 2026-2027 Municipal Leadership Academy

DENVER, CO — Civic Results is proud to announce that applications are now officially open for the 2026-2027 cohort of the Municipal Leadership Academy (MLA). Designed specifically for municipal elected officials, including mayors, council members, and trustees. MLA provides Colorado’s municipal leaders with the essential tools, data, and networks needed to govern effectively in a rapidly changing landscape.

As Colorado faces complex challenges, from housing attainability, water conservation, housing affordability, economic development, infrastructure and public safety, the Municipal Leadership Academy serves as a critical bridge between local governance and regional solutions. The program is powered by Civic Results in partnership with the Colorado Municipal League (CML) and CIRSA.

Program Structure & Experience

MLA offers eight full-day sessions between August 2026 and March 2027. Participants meet in person at varying locations including the Denver Metro area and throughout the state to gain a firsthand look at diverse municipal operations. A highlight of the program includes a specialized two-day session on the Western Slope in September, providing a vital perspective on Colorado water, climate, sustainability & resiliency innovation.

The Curriculum Includes:

  • Expert-Led Sessions: Practical workshops and insights from municipal experts covering various aspects of municipal responsibilities.

  • Site Tours: On-the-ground visits to innovative projects, such as Colorado Mesa University and the Hope Springs Habitat for Humanity development.

  • Networking: Opportunities to connect with fellow mayors and council members from across Colorado to share insights and build a valuable support network.
